Since you are using Monoshade theme, I will show you how to enable it in monoshade theme. I edited the script so that it works in monoshade theme. So don't follow the guide there.

First, create a new file called "jquery.color.js" amnd paste the following content into the file. Then, save it in monoshade/js folder.

Second, open header.php, look for:

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/js/jquery.js">

Replace with:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/js/jquery.js">
<script type="text/javascript" src="<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/js/jquery.color.js">

Now, the new js file will be loaded when user surf your website.

Third, also in header.php, look for:

Code:

Replace with:
Code:

Now the hover effect is running. But it only apply to the links in excerpts in blog index and post content in single post/page.

Change the fadecolor and fadeduration to the colour you wish.
